Brackets are all the rage when March arrives. While most people will certainly think of basketball first and foremost, there’s another type of tournament that’s creating that same feeling of passion and support that fans exude each year for their favorite teams. This is all thanks to Invest Southwest and their yearly event, Venture Madness.
When creating a startup, the hardest part is breaking out of the infancy phase. Whether it’s due to a lack of experience, manpower, or money, it’s far easier to fail than it is to succeed. Invest SW gives startups the tools they need by providing an abundance of offers to suit any area where a company might be lacking. This provides a significant boost in business growth.
Invest SW company has been around since 1992, and has since raised more than $300 million in capital while continuing to be a promising organization with which to be connected. Their purpose is simple: “to provide valuable insights and education on topics important to the startup ecosystem, as well as opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs to connect during educational seminars and networking events.”
There are many ways that Invest SW is lending a helping hand to the local entrepreneurial community. According to their website, startups that participate in their workshops will immediately become a part of the Arizona small business scene. This type of exposure is crucial for any company, no matter how big or small.
A great first workshop to join is their Get Ready Seminar. This is an event for both growing businesses and those who simply have an idea, but aren’t sure which steps to take next. During this seminar, entrepreneurs learn how to start the application process, pitch in front of investors, and receive advice from industry professionals. They’ll also be invited to participate in Venture Madness, where they can take their businesses to the next level.
On March 8, Invest SW will commence Venture Madness. This competition features 16 hopeful and talented startups and has them go head to head, bracket style, for the chance to win a $300,000 investment from a group of investors.
This year’s top 16 include the following; Anicell Biotech, Clean Router, Clicdata, Codakid, Crystal Clear Technologies Inc, Esaledash, Innobright Technologies, Mobilelogix, Omni Bioceutical Innovations, Parrafin International, Salutaris Medical Devices, Simplewan, Smart Brain Aging, Tellspec USA, WIQ Pinnacle, and Zcast. All of their pitches are available on Invest SW Website to watch for those who’re interested, along with the individual companies websites and applications.
Venture Madness will tip off in Scottsdale at the Hotel Valley Ho. The event will begin March 8th at 5:30 PM and will conclude March 10th at 4:00 PM. Tickets are available on their website for $325.
This is a great event to attend for those who’re looking to become inspired. If you’re a person who’s been letting an idea gestate for a long period of time, this might give you that extra push to pitch your idea to an investor and get your startup off the ground. Like a basketball game, starting a company takes a lot of strategy, good timing, and luck. Attending or getting involved Venture Madness is a sure bet to get a leg up on the competition.
