Use ClearVoice’s data study to market in the right place at the right time

Ten to twenty years ago, when the Internet wasn’t quite a part of people’s daily lives, it was enough for companies to simply create new content and throw it online. Now, doing so just constitutes a shout into the void. Today’s businesses have to be diligent and attentive in choosing where and when to post their content.

Of course, the perfect time and place is different for each industry. Business journals can find their readers on LinkedIn at the beginning and end of the work week; home and garden companies can find their target demographic on Pinterest on Tuesdays and Sundays. It’s all about determining where your specific audience hangs out—and when they’re there.

ClearVoice, an Internet marketing service in Phoenix, recently published an e-book detailing where and when companies should publish their content to achieve their desired marketing results. The study (which they composed themselves using ClearVoice software) analyzed more than 640,000 posts across 14 industries to determine which platforms, days of the week, and types of content spark the most engagement. ClearVoice hopes the free e-book will help startups interact more with their central audiences and generate conversation within their niche.

Where and when should you post?

Where you should post your content (and when) depends entirely on your industry. Style and fashion companies, for instance, won’t benefit from posting the same way businesses centered on parenting do. So where and when should you publish your startup’s material—and what kinds of content will result in the most customer engagement?
