INOV8 Golf, a smartphone application company, is launching two mobile gaming experiences this week: No Limit Golf and ChariTee Fantasy Golf.
The official launch of No Limit Golf was announced Tuesday night at INOV8 Golf’s launch party at Topgolf in Scottsdale. No Limit Golf is an iPhone and Android app that combines golf and poker to create a fun and interactive multi-player game. With the poker chips they win for participating in virtual rounds of golf, users can enter to win monthly prizes like travel experiences, high-end golf equipment, rounds at world class golf courses, and more.
“No Limit Golf is a new type of mobile gaming experience for fans of golf, poker, and really just anyone that likes to have fun with friends and win big,” said John Cioe, founder and CEO of INOV8 Golf, in a press release. “We have been working for over two years to bring this game to life and we are incredibly excited to officially launch it with the support of our marketing partners.”
When John first shared his vision for the app with friends and business partners, he was told it would be impossible to get a patent for the game. But John and his team at INOV8 Golf persevered—and not only is No Limit Golf patented, but it’s sponsored by Sketchers Performance, Dixon Golf, Black Clover, Putter Buddy, and other brands.
Launching this weekend at the Waste Management Open will be the second of INOV8 Golf’s apps, ChariTee Fantasy Golf. This game provides nonprofit organizations with a fun way to engage their supporters and raise funds. Each week, ChariTee Fantasy Golf will offer a variety of miniature tournaments during PGA Tour events. To compete, participants will pledge a minimum monetary donation—70 percent of which will be donated to the host and local charities. Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center, Chive Charities, and Desert Voices are among the organizations already involved.
Why golf?
John Cioe is a known expert in real estate and fundraising, so why are both of his new apps based on golf? And where does poker come in?
“Most people who like golf also like poker,” John explained at No Limit Golf’s official launch party. “Golf is a $70 million-per-year industry, [online] poker in the US is worth over $3 billion a year. It makes sense.” John also golfed recreationally, so he associates well with the sport.
With Arizona alone contributing $3.9 million to the golf industry every year, we think John picked a great place to launch.
