Venture Devils is a program offered through ASU that helps ASU-affiliated founders successfully launch businesses and nonprofits.

All startups teams must include one ASU student enrolled in at least one credit hour for the upcoming semester. That includes undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral students, part-time students and online students.

If accepted into the program, startups are paired with a “Venture Mentor” who educates and advises the team in developing their product or service at any stage. Startups in the program also benefit from being connected to the ASU Funding Network as well as potential working space and other ASU resources

Venture Devils set three expectations for its participating teams – the ability to develop, pitch and be professional. According to the program website, crews will work on creating and presenting an “evidence-based pitch deck and an executive summary that incorporate ‘fact-based’ and ‘data-driven’ proof that is now required to ensure transparency, authenticity, and traction for today’s entrepreneurs.”

There is also a separate Venture Devils course that accepted teams will be encouraged, but not required, to attend. The class is online and teaches “proven” startup methods that will reinforce the program’s activities.

Applications to the program are accepted five times per year, one week before each class session (Fall A and B, Spring A and B and Summer C). Team members must individually register on SunDevilSync, then sign on the venture as a whole as well. Instructions are posted here.

There will be an information session held in ASU’s Memorial Union on Feb. 28. Applications to the soonest program session close March 5th and can be accessed here.

The program will hold a demo day on April 27th. The top 100 ASU-affiliated ventures in various categories will compete for $250,000 by pitching to judges and community members. Click here for a list of all active Venture Devils startups.
